Even a steel-nerved expert in sudden death like Joe Gall could hardly be expected to take on a whole army. But that's exactly what this contract demanded.

A secret organization of black militants had molded themselves into a ruthless, highly trained guerrilla army. Inflamed by centuries of white injustice, they had already begun to terrorize the South. Their ultimate objective was a complete take-over. They had to be stopped. Quickly. And silently.

Joe's job was to infiltrate and set up the ringleaders for an ambush from Washington.

All he needed was a few injections, an Afro wig, phony identification, a prison record -- and presto! -- Joe Gall, white secret agent became John Earle, black secret soldier.

Simple. Simple as hiding naked in a pool of a hungry alligators.
